Is shadow work therapy?
No, ShadowWork is a psychological self-exploration and personal growth tool, not a replacement for professional mental health treatment or therapy. While our approach is based on established Jungian psychological principles used in therapeutic settings, ShadowWork is designed for educational and self-development purposes. If you're experiencing severe emotional distress, trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, or other mental health conditions, please consult a licensed mental health professional who can provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment. ShadowWork can complement therapy by increasing self-awareness, but it should not be used as a substitute for professional care when clinical support is needed.
How long does the assessment take?
The initial assessment takes about 5-10 minutes. Answer honestly for the most accurate results.
Can I retake the assessment?
Currently, each account is linked to one assessment. Contact support if you need to start fresh.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your responses are encrypted and never sold to third parties. You can request deletion of your data at any time.
What happens after the assessment?
After completing the assessment, you'll receive a comprehensive shadow archetype report identifying your primary unconscious patterns, such as The Critic, The Victim, The Perfectionist, or The Rebel. This report includes specific examples of how each archetype manifests in your thoughts, behaviors, relationships, and decision-making, helping you see patterns you may not have recognized consciously.
You'll then gain access to our structured 12-session guided program tailored to your specific archetype combination. Each session includes reflection prompts to explore how your shadow has influenced your life, awareness exercises to recognize triggers and projections, and integration practices to develop new conscious responses. You can engage with these sessions at your own pace, with options for journaling, AI-guided conversations, and progress tracking to measure your growth over time.
How often should I use ShadowWork?
There's no set schedule. Some users prefer daily reflection, others weekly. Follow what feels right for your journey.
